The Imperial Heartlands
Fortified cities, noble courts, trade roads, temples, barracks, and guild halls form the centre of human power.
A dark fantasy MUD
The world was conquered. The realms were not.
Two centuries ago, the human nations broke the old kingdoms and crowned themselves masters of the known world. Yet beneath imperial roads, ruined halls, forest enclaves, border towns, and forbidden colleges, the defeated peoples endure.
The known world
The human nations conquered the known world, but conquest did not bring peace. The heartlands are rich and watchful. The ancestral homelands are wounded but not silent. The frontiers are wild enough for ambition to survive.
Fortified cities, noble courts, trade roads, temples, barracks, and guild halls form the centre of human power.
Forest realms, mountain holds, hidden valleys, deep roads, and surviving enclaves preserve what the empire could not erase.
Borderlands where imperial law thins, monsters roam, smugglers prosper, and adventurers can still carve names into history.
Choose your bloodline
Humans, elves, dwarves, halflings, half-elves, orks, half-orks, and other peoples may all pursue combat, trade, scholarship, craft, command, crime, faith, or magic. Some are naturally adapted to certain paths, but none are forbidden.
Ambitious, adaptable, politically dominant, and found in every walk of imperial life.
Ancient and divided into wood, high, and dark kindreds, each carrying old griefs.
Stubborn, skilled, and shaped by mountain, wood, and dark holds.
Often underestimated, but deeply rooted in trade, survival, gossip, and quiet resistance.
Born between worlds, useful to many factions but fully trusted by few.
Powerful, feared, and too often judged through imperial prejudice and battlefield myth.
Hardy survivors who often learn early that reputation can be weapon, shield, or burden.
More peoples may emerge from the ruins, wilds, deep roads, and forgotten places.
Career progression
Begin with an initial career, earn experience through play, improve your skills and talents, and branch into new professions as your story grows.
Magic
Magic is rare, dangerous, and politically watched — but not locked to any single race. Talent, training, risk, and ambition determine who survives the study of power.
Sanctioned magic, temple rites, court astrologers, healers, and useful spellcraft watched by imperial authority.
Hedge traditions, lost elven formulae, dwarven rune-work, blood bargains, and arts the empire would rather bury.
Power changes those who carry it. Every spell may open doors, draw enemies, or leave marks that cannot be hidden.
